Quarian Concept

I feel like Bioware didn't put much effort into designing the Quarians, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. This is a new take on what I think Quarians might look like. After some thought I decided my first design was too simlar to the Asari, so I started again, taking into account what Bioware decided to do with the Quarians.

It seems to me that Quarians are basically what humans might look like in the distant, far off future. I observed that a common theme in older races was reduction; less fingers and toes, lack of ears, etc. (in comparison to humans, that is.)

So, what I did was try and figure out how the human body would evolve, keeping in mind the Quarians' homeworld and biology. So the bioluminescent eyes were mandatory (the way they appear in the game make it so)
I still stick to my theory that 300 years wearing enviro-suits would alter their appearence, mainly in lack of or reduction of any hair they might have had. BUT being basically post-evoluitonary humans, would they have hair? I settled on giving the Quarians short post-evolutionary hair. The hairs have evolved into more plate-like scale thingys, maybe made of cartilage-like stuff.
Bioware gave the Quarians gill-like markings on their neck, with a similar marking on the head. I'm not sure what the head lines would be for, but the neck ones could be the remnants of gills or a secondary mode of respiration. I brought the head lines down and connected them to the tear ducts, mostly because I thought it looked cool.
Keeping with the theme of reduction, I gave them a less prominent nose in comparison to Asari or Humans, reduced any kind of ears they may have had, and thinned out their lips and turned them inward. Their lips might turn out like that after 300 years of living in suits and eating.....whatever/however they eat.
I would imagine Quarians to be very fair or short on pigmentation; when viewing their faces through their masks, the skin seems to match whatever color the visor is, indicating a lack of pigmentation.
So yep. That's what I would have come up with had Bioware asked me to design the Quarians. But they didn't. so...yeah.
